SPECIAL RECOGNITION

Dr. Goldman wrote the first federal grant proposal to fund Westside and served as the first Executive Director.  He was honored for his past contributions during a reception held at Westside where he received an award commemorating his service.

Dr. Goldman is Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. Most recently, he was Medical Director and Senior Vice President for Behavioral Health Sciences, United Behavioral Health. Dr. Goldman has directed major public mental health service systems, including the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the County of San Francisco. Over the course of his career, he has also served as director of several non-profit organizations throughout the Bay Area including Westside Community Mental Health Center. He is a fellow of four professional organizations and is the author of numerous scientific publications. Dr. Goldman received his M.D. degree from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons and his B.S. degree from Tufts University.
