Crisis Clinic

The Westside Crisis Clinic provides culturally competent crisis and urgent care services to San Francisco adults (18 years or older).  Crisis Clinic is a voluntary, drop-in service open to any adult in need of emergency psychiatric care.  The Clinic is designed to stabilize low-income residents in a mental health crisis and refer that person to an appropriate source for follow-up treatment.

SERVICES

Crisis Clinic services include:

  • Crisis evaluation and intervention
  • Crisis psychiatric mediation
  • Evaluation
  • Urgent care medication
  • Case management
  • Linkages to appropriate mental health outpatient services


STAFF

The Crisis Clinic Staff is comprised of a broad set of multicultural and multidisciplinary professionals.  The staff includes:  

  • Psychiatrist 
  • Ph.D., L.C.S.W., and M.F.C.C.
  • M.A. Case Managers
  • Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians
  • Interns from Westside Post Doctoral Training Program

REQUIREMENTS

To receive treatment, a client must be:

  • 18 years or older
  • A San Francisco resident

REFERRALS

Referrals to the Crisis Clinic can be made Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., by calling (415) 355-0311.  Most Crisis Clinic referrals are made by:

  • Central Access
  • San Francisco General Hospital Psychiatric Emergency Service
  • Other health clinics
  • Individuals who voluntarily contact the program directly

Agencies referring individuals to the Crisis Clinic are requested to provide clinical information and history to help facilitate the intake and evaluation of the individual’s treatment needs.
